Six Segments of the Audible Audio Spectrum

     The Audible Audio Spectrum can be divided up into six segments, each with its own acoustic characteristics. These segments are listed below.

Six Segments of Audible Audio

1.   Sub Bass Frequencies (16Hz to 60Hz)

2.   Bass Frequencies (60 Hz to 250 Hz)

3.   Low Mid Frequencies (250 Hz to 2 kHz)

4.   High Mid Frequencies (2kHz to 4kHz)

5.   Presence Frequencies (4kHz to 6kHz)

6.   Brilliance Frequencies (6kHz-20kHz)

     Below is a segment navigation bar. Study the characteristics of each segment and listen to the audio clips of each frequency. Once you feel you have grasp of the audible audio spectrum, take the quiz and see if you can guess the frequency sound clip.
