Hallman - Web 2.0 Tool - Conceptboard

For my EDET 703 Web 2.0 tool review, I was drawn to Conceptboard. Conceptboard is billed as a digital white board, but its rich features make it so much more. It is a digital classroom in are virtual world. There are several modes within Conceptboard that allows for different experiences, from full collaboration to a moderated experience for instruction with chat interaction. Even though some of the more advanced features must be purchased, there are a ton of usable features in the free version.

As I was experimenting with Conceptboard, I decided that this tool would be a great way to begin pre-planning for my upcoming rapid e-learning tool. To review the Instructional Design Model that forms the base of the final project, I used the features within Conceptboard to create a flowchart outlining the steps of the ASSURE ID method. Next, I embed a PDF of my research paper on the ASSURE method to reference. The efficiency of having everything in one place will make the project more streamlined. Finally, I tested out the video embed tool and placed a YouTube video about the ASSURE ID model in my board. This feature is really awesome because you can watch the video right on your board.

One of the unique components of this tool is the ability to collaborate with someone.  If I choose a partner for the final project, I can then share this concept board with them and we can divide the task and use this a tool as an organizer for our project.
